This notice explains how Hendrik Malan ("we") handles personal data when you use Fin-Tastic Typer. Hendrik Malan is the data controller responsible for your personal data.
Children
Children never create accounts. They play with a nickname only, and there is no chat, messaging or voice. Game progress (nickname, scores, unlocked items) is stored on the child's device, not on our servers.
Data we collect and why
- Parent account data (email address, password or Google sign-in details) — to create and secure your account and provide Premium. Legal basis: contract.
- Subscription records (subscription status, renewal dates, customer reference) — to unlock Premium. Legal basis: contract.
- Technical data (IP address, device and browser information, error logs) — to keep the Service secure, prevent fraud and fix problems. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
- Support messages — to answer your questions. Legal basis: legitimate interests.
Who we share data with
- Service providers that host and run the app (hosting, database and authentication).
- Paddle.com, our Merchant of Record, for the sale of Premium, subscription management, payments, tax compliance and invoicing. Paddle processes payment details under its own privacy policy.
- Professional advisers such as lawyers and accountants.
- Authorities where required by law.
We never sell personal data or show advertising.
International transfers
Our providers may process data in other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep data
We keep account data while your account is active and delete or anonymise it when it is no longer needed, unless the law requires us to keep it longer (for example, financial records).
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or port your data, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent. You may also complain to your local data protection authority. Email us and we will respond within one month.
Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit and access controls, to protect personal data.
Cookies and local storage
We only use essential browser storage to keep you signed in and to save game progress on your device. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. You can clear this storage in your browser settings at any time.
